You are absolutely right when you say it is not exciting. But don't assume that not being exciting is a bad thing. When I look at paintings by Monet or Renoir, excitement is not on my list of feelings even though my heart beats faster and my breathing is more rapid. Your roses are beautiful and that in itself might be enough but they are also beautifully rendered. The sepia lends a softness and a sense of serenity. The detail is marvelous as you can even see the veining in the petals. The title "Memory" is well fitted to the rose and even more so to the toning as sepia tones in a photograph makes us think of things from an earlier time. For me this image is splendid and I'm glad you posted it. Don't apologize for a thing of beauty that you have created.
